This is Dequarion. He lives in a mission with his mom and 3 siblings. This bag is all the stuff that he brought to camp for a week! Many of the kids who come to camp live in difficult situations - and for many the lack of stuff is hardly the most difficult of their situations. Last week we had a group of girls who were openly hostile to the gospel. One 11 year old said to me "F--- God, I don't need him. Why would I pretend like I want to praise Him while I am at camp when I know I am just going to go back to the city and live like I live?" It's an honest question - particularly if we wanted her to pretend. She doesn't understand that my life was changed because of a relationship! Pray that the hearts of the campers would be open and soft.
Please pray for Khandice. Pray that she would be able to move beyond the show and that she would desire God's will in her life.
For those who don't know, Shanica Turner is here from Idaho doing a three week mission trip. She's been helping out with meal prep, cleaning, life guarding, and assisting with 11 and 12 year old girls in cabins. Pray that serving God in this way will be life changing for her!

It goes without question that you are very busy and it is not easy to eek out moments to post on a blog with all the other demands that are more at the forefront. You are in our prayers, and yet you probably woudn't know it by the lack of our contact with you as well!
Dear Lord,
Continue to strengthen and encourage Megan for the ministry you have called her to, giving her Your wisdom, guidance and discernement in her encounters with children, in her contacts with other co-workers and supporters. May she have a keen sense of Your enablement to do that which she has been equipped to do by Your Spirit. Lord, I also ask that Your Spirit would work in the lives of those kids who come to camp and ask the hard life questions. May they understand Your extreme love for them, and their need to have a relationship with You. May they be protected by Your strong shield from the fiery arrows of the one who seeks to destroy them. May Your kingdom be advanced through those who serve at Camp Beechpoint and through the follow-up discipleship in inner city Chicago.

Hi, It is really good to hear from you. Sounds like you have a big job ahead but I have not doubt that you and God can handle it well. It is now hot here again so have to stay in much of the time.
